Description
THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS ONLY. This is not a request for offers or proposals. This notice does not represent a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or award a contract. The Government does not intend to pay for information solicited. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), NCO 2 James J. Peters, VA Medical Center, is seeking highly qualified construction firms to: Provide turnkey services to include all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to design and construct the site preparation needed to install a new Canon s Ultimax system in accordance with Canon s equipment specifications and installation requirements for the NYHHS Manhattan Campus. Develop working drawings and specifications to prepare X-ray room to accept the new Canon s Ultimax system. The area included in the scope of the project is approximately 350 square feet. This work includes architectural, electrical, mechanical, structural, and site modifications. Contractor will be responsible for the development of specifications and drawings in correlation with the equipment manufacturer installation criteria, product/equipment submittals and construction period services which must be approved by VA. Site prep requirement references include VA Design Guide PG-18-12 for General Purpose Radiology Room. Provide structural review to determine support of new loads and verify Unistrut system. Structural Engineer PE to provide letter that equipment and structural supports meet seismic requirements. Architectural and Engineering drawings by Licensed Architect and PE are included. Provide a Physicist testing and report of the existing radiation protection system to ensure the existing radiation is adequate. Construction documents to be provided to the VA include: Construction documents production (drawings and specifications) by Professional Engineer to be approved by VA. The estimated Construction Cost Range for this effort is the range prescribed in VAAR 836.204, is between $500,000.00 and $1,000,000.00. The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification. Responses to this synopsis will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. This solicitation is issued under the Small Business competitiveness demonstration program. The applicable NAICS Code is 236220 with a small business size standard of $39.5 Million and MUST have knowledgeable experience. The firm will be responsible for providing all management, supervision, labor, materials, supplies and equipment, and shall plan, schedule, and coordinate as per requirements of all governing agencies. This notice is to assist the VA in determining sources only. Additional information, including the solicitation will be published on the Federal Business Opportunities website FedBizOpps.gov. Responses to this sources sought synopsis are not considered adequate responses to any future solicitation announcements. Responses to this sources sought is not a request to be added to a prospective bidders list or to receive a copy of future solicitations.
