- Description
- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) has a requirement entitled Lock and Dam 5 (LD5) Embankment Resurfacing.� The project area is located approximately 2.25 miles downstream of Buffalo City, Wisconsin (Buffalo County) along the east bank of the Mississippi River. The embankment is approximately 3.4 miles long, with a top width of approximately 20 feet. Using USACE supplied plans and specifications, the contractor will accomplish the following summary Scope of Work: Work includes but is not limited to re-grading the existing top of the embankment, surveying the existing alignment, establishing horizontal and vertical control, furnishing and placing surfacing aggregate and providing a sloped top section to establish positive drainage.�� The embankment will be resurfaced with surfacing aggregate meeting Wisconsin DOT material requirements. The Contractor is responsible for rough and fine grading, furnishing and installing all required aggregate necessary to bring the existing embankment up to its specified elevation, reducing localized areas that are higher than the specified profile, and compaction. The Contractor shall remove any unsuitable material from the project site. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this project is 237310; Highway, Street, and Bridge with a small business size standard of $39.5M.����� The estimated magnitude of construction is between $100,000 and $250,000; the contract will require 100% performance and payment bonds.� This procurement is set-aside 100% for small business concerns. This synopsis is not a request for quotes (RFQ), proposals (RFP), or in an invitation for bids (IFB). This is a pre-solicitation notice indicating that a solicitation for a competitive acquisition for the award of one firm-fixed price contract is intended to be issued via Contract Opportunities at beta.SAM.gov (formerly FedBizOpps/FBO.gov) in the near future.� The specifications will be detailed in the solicitation once issued. This announcement is for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, implied or otherwise, to issue a solicitation or award a contract. Quotes will be due approximately 14 days from the date the solicitation is issued, however, the 14 day time frame is an estimate and subject to change.� The definitive solicitation closing due date and time will be stated in the solicitation and any associated amendments that may be issued. No CD's or hard copies will be available. Quoters are responsible for checking the referenced page for any update(s) to this Notice. In order for contractors to conduct business with the Department of Defense, the contractor must provide registration information to the System for Award Management (SAM).
