- This is a Notice of Intent to award to a sole-source contractor. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE. The United States Air Force (USAF) intends to award a sole-source contract to Data Source Inc. The USAF requires non-personal services for a base year with 4 option years to provide annual system certification, to include any upgrades for Datascribe Duplication System Support in accordance with the attached Performance Work Statement (PWS). DataScribe is the primary system used to duplicate tape and optical CPIN distributable mission critical software to Department of Defense customers worldwide. Support is necessary to maintain equipment, software and needed upgrades in support of the Software Control Center. Data Source Inc. is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of these required software and equipment. As part of the ongoing Enterprise Solution effort by the Software maintenance Groups at all three Air Logistics Centers (ALCs), all three ALCs have agreed to use the same equipment and software supplied by Data Source, Inc. to duplicate their media. The other two have already purchased similar systems from Data Source, Inc. for the digitization of their classified media. Changing equipment and software would result in the loss of this capability and especially disaster recovery efforts.
