Description
This is a notice of intent to proceed with a sole source requirement beneath the simplified acquisition threshold for commercial items. The contractor is VIKEN Detection Corporation located in Burlington, MA. The contractor will be responsible for the site preparation and civil works required for the installation and operation of a Viken Osprey UVX (under vehicle inspection system) at the Veterans International Bridge. CBP port of entry in Brownsville TX.� Also included, is the procurement and installation of the peripheral equipment for safety and security purposes, and a Viken workstation with ancillary equipment for CBP officer/operator screening. �Safety and security equipment includes security cameras, a front license plate reader, scene lighting, and a traffic management light. Installation of the Viken Osprey UVX requires site preparation and civil works.� The civil works drawing package includes site surveys, topographical, ground penetrating radar, an electrical power study and a civil works-drawing package required for the installation of the Viken system and for the installation of the peripheral security and safety equipment and an additional Viken workstation with ancillary equipment. Installation of the Viken Osprey UVX requires that the civil works specifications must be coordinated and aligned with Viken proprietary interface specifications.� The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with VIKEN Detection Corporation under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.5(a). This notice is being provided per FAR 5.101(a)(1), 5.201(b)(1)(i), and 5.207. Vendors that believe they can meet the requirements for this acquisition (attached) or in the future may respond to this notice. The response should contain a brief description of the vendor's capability. Please also include the size of your business (large or small) and recent examples of similar work. Any vendor who wishes to submit information for this requirement should email their information to the attention of Aga Frys at aga.frys@cbp.dhs.gov. To receive consideration, submissions must be received no later than 3:00 pm ET, September 2, 2020. Only email submissions will be accepted.
