Description
SOLE SOURCE/NOTICE OF INTENT The 502d Contracting Squadron, Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, TX 78150, intends to solicit and award a sole source firm-fixed-price contract to Stratasys, Inc. The action will be executed in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Parts 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and 13.5, Simplified Procedures for Certain Commercial Items, under the authority of Air Force FAR Supplement (AFFARS) 5313.501 - 10 U.S.C. 2302b, Implementation of Simplified Acquisition Procedures (41 U.S.C. 1901).� See attached redacted Sole Source Justification for additional details. The requirement is to provide the following: CLIN 0001: One (1) Each, Stratasys Fortus F900mc Gen II Industrial 3D Printer System.� The 502d Trainer Development Squadron requires a Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) 3D printer with a build envelope of not less than 36 x 24 x 36 inch (914 x 607 x 914 mm) and the ability to print a variety of thermoplastics to include ABS, Polycarbonate, Nylon, and ULTEM 9085.� The Stratasys Fortus machines have been evaluated and qualified to print airworthy parts and equipment in accordance with Technical Order 34A-1-1 and Airworthiness Bulletin 1015.� They are the only known commercial-grade, industrial 3D printing systems that have the requisite build size, precision, and materials to meet Trainer Development�s mission to fabricate B-1B Armament Systems, C-17 Aeromedical Evacuation, and ""Heavies""/Comm trainers for the Air Force and DoD. This notice of intent is NOT a request for quote or proposal. However, interested parties may submit a narrative describing their capabilities and qualifications to fulfill the requirement via email to Yolanda.lillard@us.af.mil with a copy to vivian.fisher@us.af.mil no later than�08 September�2020 at 3:30PM Central Time. Any costs incurred in submitting a capabilities statement will not reimbursed by the Government. Additionally, the information received will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct the procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
