Description
USDA Forest Service, Tonto National Forest, Phoenix, Arizona, has a requirement for design-build project to construct approximately 1,000 feet of fencing that crosses the Salt River located near northeast corner of Coon Bluff Picnic Area, on Mesa Ranger District. This project is located in Maricopa County and is covered by Davis-Bacon wages. The Government anticipates awarding a Firm Fixed-Price contracts under the Request For Quotations using Best Value � Tradeoff with evaluation factors.� ����� This procurement is a total Small Business Set-Aside.� The NAICS code 238990 applies to this procurement for which the Small Business size standard is $16.5 million.� � In order to be eligible for award of a Federal contract, potential vendors need to already be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) www.sam.gov �and have a DUNS number. Work consists of coordination with the Forest Service to design and construct approximately 1000 feet of fencing that crosses the Salt River.� Fencing shall be designed and composed of materials that will function as a deterrent to horses and cattle, while allowing safe passage for recreational users traveling via kayaks and tubes.� Work includes but is not limited to tying in new fencing materials to existing fences on both sides of the river, and securing any required permits associated with this project. The location of structure will be located in the northeast corner of the Coon Bluff Picnic Area, Mesa Ranger District. There is easy access to the project area from the south side of the river from the Coon Bluff Picnic Area. �An access route from the north will be developed in near future, in preparation to this project.� River levels drop in the fall and early winter and provide better working conditions. Design parameters include new fencing must function year-round and withstand varying water levels (must work when the water level is very low as well as when high releases from the dam or floods occur); future maintenance shall be considered with details provided to the Forest Service; design must be stamped by a registered structural engineer and approved by the Forest Service prior to construction.
