Description

The National Science Foundation (NSF) intends to award a Sole Source Purchase Order to UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND OFFICE OF RESEARCH ADMINISTRATION for the annual Max Participation Fee and 1G Layer 3 IP routed (R&E) service. NSF has a �continuing need to access the Intemet2 Research Network provided by the Internet2 in conjunction with the network access to this network provided by the Intemet2 Mid-Atlantic Crossroad (MAX) Point of Presence.� This�award maintains NSF's membership status and pays Intemet2 the access fee in order to be able to connect to the Intemet2 via the MAX GigaPop. This purchase is proposed on a Brand Name and Sole Source basis as Internet2 is the only company that provides this Intemet2 Affiliate Member Dues and Internet2 Network Participation fee in order to be able to provide Intemet2 access that will serve the NSF Research infrastructure. This�service will be awarded to The University of Maryland (Mid-Atlantic Crossroad) in accordance with the terms and conditions of the MAX Participation Agreement between Mid-Atlantic Crossroads (MAX) and the National Science Foundation (NSF) which was previously solicited and awarded. The proposed contract action for which the Government intends to sponsor with only one sole source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b). This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposal. This synopsis is for informational purposes only. �
