Description
Announcement of Industry Day for Air Force 72kW Ground Power Unit This shall serve as notice for a future industry day to be held on 16-17 Sept 2020 to discuss the procurement of 72kW Ground Power Units (GPU). This industry day will cover technical requirements of the system, testing to include First Article and Operational Test and Evaluation, and evaluation criteria for source selections and competitive orders. The industry day will be held virtually via Microsoft Teams within the DoDs Commercial Virtual Remote (CVR) environment. The Air Force is looking to procure the next generation of 72kW Ground Power Units (GPU) which is anticipated to use a 480 VAC/60hz power generation architecture to product the required power outputs to perform a fleet replacement of its existing GPUs. The Air Force is leaning forward to field a generator which provides cleaner power, increases fleet flexibility, and supports new trend in aircraft requirements while reducing program cost and timeframe. The Air Force is looking to reduce logistics and repair costs by seeking common modular components to be used within all GPU products. The Air Force is looking to streamline the source selection process by limiting the source selection to only key discriminators and use of oral presentations. We are looking for industry's input to assist the Government's effort to define key discriminators and how oral presentations are best used. On the morning of the first day we will convene an open session for general discussion on issues and concerns. Beginning that afternoon and continuing into the next morning we will schedule one-on-one sessions with each vendor interested in discussing specific issues and concerns relative to their companys interests. These closed door sessions will not exceed 45 minutes. The sessions will be a back and forth discussions and not include industry capability briefs. Sessions will be scheduled on a first come-first-served basis. As industry day will be held virtually, you must register with Contracting Officer Robert Rollins (robert.rollins.2@us.af.mil) by 10 Sep 2020 to receive the appropriate log in information and conduct a test connection prior to Industry Day. Updated Product Description and Statement of Work - Product Description is Export Controlled and access must requested via beta.SAM AND an email must be sent to the Contracting Officer with the Contractor's approved DD2345 certifying the Contractor is able to recieve Export Controlled Data.
