Description
This contract action is for the acquisition of supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 1901 as supplemented by the procedures in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.5. The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), Office of Acquisitions (OA) intends to award a sole source purchase order to Bio-Rad Laboratories, Life Science Group, 2000 Alfred Nobel Drive, Hercules, CA 94547 for Touch Real-Time PCR System.��� Item No. 1855484���� CFX384 Touch Real-Time PCR Sys �����������Qty 1 each �������������������������������������� � w/Consumab ������������������������������������ ��� Includes a one-year warranty, training, �������������������������������������� �� And installation.� NIEHS Lab requires a 384?well real time PCR system to detect gene expression profiles for lab research. The system should allow for precise, reproducible, and multiplex real?time PCR detection for large quantities of samples on a single plate. CFX384 Touch Real?Time PCR system from Bio?Rad meets all the requirement of this lab need. NIEHS lab is working on gene and environment interaction that mediates regulation of metabolism, stress response, and developments. The studies require extensive profiling of gene expressions using real-time, quantitative PCR. Though�NIEHS currently own a Bio-Rad CFX96 Touch Real-Time PCR Detection System, the instrument can only process maximum 96 samples in one run and is unable to meet the needs of multiple researchers in the lab.� The CFX384 Touch Real-Time PCR Detection System from Bio-Rad utilizes accurate temperature control and sensitive, 4-color detection optics, and allows for precise, reproducible, and multiplex real-time PCR detection for large quantities of samples on a single plate, therefore meets NIEHS current lab needs. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334516 Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing and a size standard of 1000. NIEHS will solicit and negotiate directly with Bio-Rad Laboratories and no solicitation will be issued. �This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals or quotations; however, if an interested party believes they can meet the above requirement, it may submit a statement of capabilities. �The statement of capabilities must be submitted in writing and must contain material in sufficient detail to allow the Government to determine if the party can perform the requirement. �A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. �All interested parties must express their interest and capabilities in writing via email to shields3@niehs.nih.gov within six (6) days after the date of publication of this notice. �No faxed documents will be accepted. �If no responsive statements are received within six (6) days, an award will be made to Bio-Rad Laboratories.
