- Description
- GENERAL GUIDANCE Title of Project: Purchase of Fiber Photometry Equipment for pre-clinical mouse experiments Scope of Work: The Contractor will provide all components. No need for set-up. Background: We request a fiber photometry system which will allow us to stably record the activity of specific groups of brain cells in mice through implanted optical fibers. This will help us to understand the role of these brain cells in controlling sleep and wakefulness and lay the groundwork for new treatments for sleep disorders. Description of fiber photometry system for mice We are seeking a fiber photometry system will allow us to precisely monitor the activity of two distinct populations of neurons in a targeted brain region in freely behaving mice with high stability and sensitivity. In order to meet our needs the system should include: 1) Fiber photometry console/workstation; 2) LED drivers for red and green fluorescence (RCaMP, GCaMP); 3) Fluorescent filter port/minicube with 6 ports, 2 integrated photodetector heads and 3 integrated LED; 4) A pigtailed assisted fiber optic and electric rotary joint for enhanced stability of recordings from freely behaving mice, comparable to http://doriclenses.com/life-sciences/fiber-optic-electrical-rotary-joints/1002-pigtailed-assisted-fiber-optic-electric-rotary-joint.html#/connector_electrical-usb_c/channelcount-24; 5) Two mono fiberoptic patchcords with low autofluorescence. The system should allow the possibility of concurrent optogenetic stimulation and be compatible with Pinnacle Technology EEG/EMG recording systems and Med Associates Behavioral equipment. Performance Period: Date of award until after the PO is created and the system is delivered. Type of Contract: FFP CONTRACT AWARD MEETING No contract award meeting will be necessary. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS The Contractor will ship the system. This instrument can be housed within the laboratory SPECIFIC MANDATORY TASKS AND ASSOCIATED DELIVERABLES Shipment and delivery of instrument: System will be delivered to the laboratory EVALUATED OPTIONAL FEATURES No need for contractor set-up on site. SCHEDULE FOR DELIVERABLES The Contractor will deliver via UPS when they have received a PO from the Contracting Officer at the VA
