Description
This a sources sought�for possible emergent ship repair services in Seattle, WA. The necssity and scope of this requirement is unknown at this time. This is not a request for quote, but attempt to locate capable and interested ship repair vendors in the Seattle area for a future requirement should it be necessary. If determined necessary, the timetable for providing this service will be relatively short.� Please directly contact joel.heisler@noaa.gov with interest. Please see known requirements below: 1.� ABSTRACT The Fairweather during cleaning for preservation has found the hull in shaft all to have heavy corrosion. It will require a repair to the hull but the extent at this point is unknown. UT shots are being taken to determine the extent of the repair. 2. REQUIREMENTS. 2.1 General. 2.1.1 Tech Rep. 2.1.2 Protective measures.� The Contractor shall furnish and install all protective coverings to seal off and protect all non-affected vessel's components, equipment, and spaces near the work area against contamination during the performance of work.� Upon completion of work, the Contractor shall remove all installed protective measures, inspect for the presence of contamination, and return all contaminated equipment, components, and spaces to original condition of cleanliness. 2.1.3 Interferences.� The Contractor shall remove all interferences in way of specified work, as necessary, without regard to whether interferences are listed in this statement of work; restore all removed interferences upon completion of the specified work. The Contractor may exercise the discretion to work around certain interferences, when possible, so long as the specified work is successfully accomplished. 2.1.5 Materials, Equipment & Personnel.� Except as otherwise noted, the Contractor shall provide and furnish all materials, labor, tools, and other items necessary to complete the work. All materials shall be new, and both workmanship and materials shall be of a high standard of quality approved by the Owner�s Representative. Disposal of hazardous waste shall be at the Contractor�s expense. 2.1.6 All contractor coming aboard will be required to call in to NOAA Medical every day for at least 3 days prior to coming aboard the ship. No exceptions. If any of the contractor personnel show signs of being sick the will not be allowed to come on the base or the ship. 2.2 The hull plating in Question is 4�X10�. The expectation is that ABS will accept Clad welding of the worst areas. 2.2.1 Requires an ABS Certified Marine Welder with the qualification to perform the welding process(s). 2.2.2 Fire watch will need to be provided by the contractor. 2.2.3 The space will need to Gas Free for welding. 2.2.4 Upon ABS acceptance of the repair the sight will require preservation. 3.
