- Description
- ThisRequest for Information (RFI) is issued for the purpose of providingstakeholders an opportunity to review, comment, suggest, and enhance areas in the attached draftprogram concept for a new USAID/Philippines activity, namely Strengthening Private Enterprisefor the Digital Economy (SPEED). The primary goal of SPEED is to enable Philippine SMEs tosafely, reliably, and competitively participate in the digital economy. To expand the participationof the SME sector in the digital economy, this activity will (1) improve the capacity of SMEs toinnovate and adopt safe, reliable and affordable technology solutions; (2) expand the use ofe-payment systems and other FinTech innovations; and (3) improve the integration ofe-commerce platforms with logistical supply chains. This RFI Amendment 1 is issued for the purpose of continuing the exchanges with stakeholderswith regards to the draft program statement (see Attachment 1) via holding a Virtual IndustryDay on September 14, 2020 (Monday) starting at 8:00am (Manila time). The purpose of the industry day is to: a) inform interested organizations aboutUSAID/Philippines program requirements to address challenges faced by small and mediumenterprises as they participate in the digital economy; b) gain insight from organizationsregarding their best practices and standards to assist with the requirements development; c) serveas venue for organizations to meet one another collaborate and create potential partnerships; andd) present to organizations how to do business with USAID. This stakeholder consultation shallbe considered when further revising the SPEED design. If your organization intends to participate in the Virtual Industry Day, please inform us by givingthe name (organization and participant) and contact information of the participant by email toJanine Krizzia Dator (jdator@usaid.gov) no later than 3:00pm (Manila time) on September 10,2020. Contact information must include an active gmail address because the Virtual IndustryDay shall be convened using the Google Hangout platform. A maximum of two (2)representatives from each organization is allowed.
