CODAN RADIO UPGRADE 2020 NUMBER: PR: 0040508055 POSTED DATE: 09/03/20 SUBJECT: Codan Repeater P-25 Upgrade This announcement constitutes the only notice. This is not a request for quotes. A determination not to compete is solely within the discretion of the Government. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. Responses must be received no later than September 8, 2020, by sending an e-mail to agaddis@blm.gov; however, any technical data received will be for the sole purpose of market research for future requirements. Under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP), BLM-AK/Alaska Fire Service intends to issue a sole source, firm-fixed price order to: COMPANY: Daniels (Codan) Electronics LTD: dba: Codan Radio FOR : $641,394.49 ON: 8/10/20 NAICS: 423610 ELECTRICAL APPARATUS AND EQUIPMENT, WIRING SUPPLIES, AND RELATED EQUIPMENT MERCHANT WHOLESALERS AUTHORITY: 8.405-6(a)(2) Limited Sources Justification and Approval 13.106(b) Soliciting from a single source FAR 6.302-2 Unusual and compelling urgency. Determinations not to compete this proposed procurement were made because: Replacement CODAN radio UIC/AC-3 Modules, purchase CODAN P-25 Phase II compliant radios as replacements and upgrades for ageing CODAN radios. These radios must be electrically and mechanically compatible with the existing CODAN equipment deployed in the field. These Modules must be fit, form, function and factor interchangeable in CODAN radio repeater systems as used by the BLM. The CODAN manufactured radios have been adopted as the standard radio equipment used by the BLM, FWS, NPS and U.S. Customs agencies in Alaska.
