Description

The Department of Veteran Affairs intends to conduct a small business set aside for a brand name mandatory Doric Lenses Inc., fiber photometry system. This is not a solicitation. Due to compatibility with existing systems and the unique capabilities of this specialized equipment, the Department of Veterans Affairs needs to obtain Doric Lenses brand name fiber photometry system equipment to match existing Doric Lenses equipment currently in use for pre-clinical mouse experiments in support of the West Roxbury, MA VAMC. Since this is a small business set aside, a solicitation will be issued to small businesses found during market research and those that demonstrate a capability to provide this brand name equipment in response to this pre-solicitation notice.  The applicable NAICS code is 334516. The FSC/PSC is 6640. The authority for this action is FAR 6.302.1(c) Only One Responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements for brand name only descriptions. The determination to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer.
