Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 09, hereby provides notice of its intent to award a sole source, firm fixed-price contract for the lease the CareFusion Pyxis® Drug Storage and Accountability System (CareFusion Pyxis®) for the Tennessee Valley Healthcare System (TVHS). The contract is expected to be awarded in accordance with FAR 13.5 Simplified Procedures for Certain Commercial Items and specifically FAR 13.501 Special Documentation Requirements, where acquisitions conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures are exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6, but still require a justification using the format of FAR 6.303 2. A Justification for Other Than Full and Open Competition has been approved. The anticipated award date is September 11, 2020. The contractor will provide the lease of these products to the Pharmacy Service Department at the Tennessee Valley Healthcare System, Nashville VA Medical Center Campus, 1310 24th Avenue, Nashville, TN 37212. NAICS code: 339112 Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing (SBA Size Standard 1000 Employees) PSC: 6515 The CareFusion Pyxis® automated dispensing are used to support all inpatient Bar Code Medication Administration (BCMA) and all outpatient clinics. The system functions both locally and at remote Community-Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC) by way of one main server located at the Nashville Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC). Unit Dose medication packaging is used for patients that are admitted or treated in clinic, for medication and drug accountability/security, and to minimize medication diversion. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A SOLICITATION OR REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement within three calendar days after publication of this notice. A determination not to compete this requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Department of Veterans Affairs will NOT be responsible for any costs incurred by interested parties in responding to this notice of intent. Only written responses will be considered. All responses from responsible sources will be fully considered. As a result of analyzing responses to this notice of intent, the Government shall determine if a solicitation will be issued. Any prospective contractor must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) to be eligible for award. Interested parties are encouraged to furnish information by email only with RESPONSE TO INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE DRUG STORAGE AND ACCOUNTABILITY SYSTEM in the subject line. All documents submitted will not be returned. All interested parties shall submit clear and convincing documentation demonstrating their capabilities to satisfy the requirements listed above to Darrin Nicholson, Contracting Officer, by email at Darrin.nicholson@va.gov NO LATER THAN 12:00 PM CDT . The capability documentation should include general information and technical background describing in detail the prospective contractor's capabilities and experience that will demonstrate the ability to support these requirements.
