- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Rotunda Scientific Technologies for the procurement of Strata DCP50 high precision dual-cylinder pump. This instrument is a direct replacement for the Pharmacia P500 precision continuous pump. The P500 is no longer manufactured. This Strata DCP50 was designed and build to be a direct replacement for the P500, and has the same shape, design, accuracy, and communication protocols. The DCP50 can be easily swapped with the existing P500 that that lab urgently needs to replace. The P500 is called out in NIOSH STPs TEB-APR-STP-0046, TEB-APR-STP-0039, CET-APRS-STP-CBRN-0301, and CET-APRS-STP-CBRN-0310. Purchasing a P500 would have been preferable, but it is no longer commercially available as a new device, and parts are limited. The DCP50 is the best option, since it was designed specifically to replace the P500. NIOSH procedures, test systems, and trainings are all set up specifically for this device. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1).. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within five (5) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any quotation/response should be emailed to contract specialist at kpy3@cdc.gov by 1:00 p.m. 10 September 2010.
