Description

Synopses � Notice of Intent to Award Sole Source to �Elton Bryson Stephens Company (EBSCO) Industries, Inc.� for use of web-based research discovery platform. The United States Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA), Fort Detrick, MD intends to issue a sole source award utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures (IAW FAR 13.5) to Elton Bryson Stephens Company (EBSCO) Industries, Inc. as part of�Walter Reed Army Institute of Research�s Gorgas Memorial Library (GML) solicitation that will be issued in the coming weeks.� This intent to sole source announcement is to meet the requirement of FAR 5.201. The GML intends to maintain a unified, customized index of the agency�s information resources, and as a means of accessing all the content from a single search box.� Further, through its Applied Science & Technology Biological Reference Collection platforms, EBSCO will serve as a provider to the GML of research databases, e-journals, magazine subscriptions, e-books and discovery services. This notice of intent is for information purposes only. All sources eligible to provide this service must respond in writing. Responses must be supported with clear and convincing evidence to clearly articulate the ability to provide services outlined above. A request for documentation will not be considered as an affirmative response. If no responses are received, within 15 days after publication of this notice, to the effect that comparable services are available, and that it is more advantageous to the Government than obtaining these services through a sole-source contract, then a sole source acquisition award will be made.
