Chargers used by DLA in the past did not have the capability to charge both types of batteries. DLA Distribution Susquehanna has lithium batteries now and anticipates that to be the future of batteries and needs to start preparing for the future. At the same time, DLA Distribution needs to be able to charge the lead acid batteries still in circulation. Buying chargers that do not have the capability to charge lithium and lead acid is a waste of money and will need replaced again in a few years when DLA requires lithium batteries. The chargers need to provide conventional, opportunity, and fast charging capability integrated into a single system. The battery chargers need to provide automatic updates and have the ability to troubleshoot remotely.
