- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command intends to negotiate and award a sole source Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity Contract with Sikorsky, A Lockheed Martin Company, Stratford CT.� This contract will provide sustainment support for the United States Marine Corp, United States Navy H-53 helicopter in order to improve aircraft readiness, enhance reliability, and increase maintainability of the aircraft. This will include the necessary engineering support to design, develop and manufacture aircraft prototype parts and modification to existing parts.� Prepare, maintain, revise and submit drawings for production and retrofit of aircraft parts or auxiliary equipment. Systems Engineering and integration analysis, Integrated logistics support, Testing and related test support.� Configuration Management and Obsolescence management efforts for aircraft and training systems.� Sikorsky has been the designer and developer of the aircraft for the H-53 legacy and CH-53K helicopters, and, accordingly, is the only known responsible firm with the requisite knowledge, capability, experience, technical data, and test equipment necessary to fulfill the Government�s requirements within the required timeframes herein.� The authority permitting other than full and open competition is Title 10USC 2304(c)(1), as instructed by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1(a)(2), only one responsible source and no other suppliers or services will satisfy agency requirements. This synopsis is not a request for competitive proposals. However, any capability statements received within fifteen days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
