THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE OR PROPOSAL � THIS IS A NOTICE OF THE GOVERNMENT�S INTENT TO ISSUE A SOLE SOURCE AWARD TO EDGESOURCE CORPORATION FOR UNMANNED AERIAL/AIRCRAFT SYSTEM DETECTION SERVICES. The Department of Defense (DoD), Washington Headquarters Services, Acquisition Directorate (WHS/AD) intends to award a sole source contract. This is a synopsis published for informational purposes only. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii)(B). The proposed contract action falls under North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) 336411 Aircraft Manufacturing; size standard 1,500 employees. The proposed source is Edgesource Corporation, 909 North Washington Street Suite E200, Alexandria, Virginia 22314. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive quotations/proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action regardless of responses that may be received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, quotation, or exception to the intent to purchase on a sole source basis, which shall be considered by the Government if received on or before 1:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, 21 September 2020. In order to comply with FAR 5.207(c)(15), the reason for lack of competition is Edgesource Corporation, by virtue of being the incumbent service provider, is the only responsible source capable of sustaining services preventing any potential adverse impact to the mission of the Department, which would occur in the event of a disruption of services. The performance period will begin on 24 September 2020 and will not exceed 12 months unless the six-month option to extend services is exercised in accordance with FAR 52.217-8, Option to Extend Services.
