- The purpose of Amendment A00001 is to provide a response to a contractor questions as well as extend the quote due date. Responses to Contractor Questions: Is the successful contractor required to be a member of NADCA (National Air Duct Cleaners Association)? YES Can you send the overall square footage of the building? The building has approximately 94,000 square foot of occupiable floor space (basement, 1 floor, and 2nd floor) Can you list how many air handlers serve the ductwork that is to be cleaned and what their approximately tonage or cfm of each Air handler unit is? There are 11 air handlers servicing the duct work in bldg. 4 Are the air Handlers to be included in the cleaning? -Air Handlers are to be cleaned Are exhaust systems included? Exhaust Systems are included Are prevailing wage rates/Davis Bacon Wage Rates required to be used and if so can you provide a list of the wage rates? Subject to SCLS DOL wage rates posted 2015-4047 Rev 13 The contractor would not be required to put access into hard ceilings or hard surfaces to access ductwork, correct? For example drywall hatches would not be required, correct? Drywall hatches are not required Can the bid be turned in electronically? Quotes shall be emailed to Stefanie.carter3@va.gov Is there a more formal and detailed spec? The combined synopsis is posted to include the scope of work and performance work statement. Will the access need to be access doors or can we cut and patch the duct work to SMACNA Standards? Cut and Patch to SMACNA Standards is Sufficient Has the system been cleaned in the past? There is evidence that the system had been cleaned at some point What are the hours of work? 0700-1530 Are you requiring Vendors to be NADCA certified? This will protect & benefit the VA! Yes Is there a target completion date? Within 120 days from date of award Are we to clean the Units? If so who will provide the unit filters? Cleaning includes cleaning the air handling units. The filters are to be provided by the VA HVAC shop. Will there be an designated person to do inspections before the units are re-energized? Yes, there will be an inspection before bringing the units back online Are you requiring pre and post photos? Yes Quotes will now be due by 9/21/2020 at 1:00pm EST. All quotes and required information is to be emailed to Stefanie.carter3@va.gov.
