Description
This is a notice of a proposed intent to sole source action published to notify potential sources that the USDA, Animal Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), Veterinary Services (VS), intends to sole source Federal Group Registration for the United States Animal Health Association (USAHA) and American Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians (AAVLD) Annual meeting. Federal Group Registration Fees to attend the United States Animal Health Association and American Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians (AAVLD) Annual meeting. This annual meeting is the sole venue that provides a platform for state, federal, and the agricultural industries to meet during the calendar year for transparent discussions and decisions on animal health, surveillance, and disease eradication. Attendance by APHIS personnel is critical to the success of the meeting. The United States Animal Health Association hosts an annual meeting each year, which brings together 400 state and federal animal health officials, national allied organizations, regional representatives, and individual members to discuss a wide-range of topics and issues associated with protecting animal and public health. Veterinary Services selects employees from the executive team, field personnel, lab personnel, and personnel in the commodity and emergency management groups to represent the federal animal health officials at the meeting. This years meeting is virtual attendance due to COVID 19 restrictions. The United States Animal Health Association (USAHA), the nations animal health forum for over a century, is a science-based, non-profit, voluntary organization that held its annual meeting in Providence, Rhode Island on October 15-21, 2020. USAHAs mission is to protect animal and public health by serving as a national forum for communication and coordination concerning disease eradication, animal health, emergency preparedness, emergency response and recovery, emerging diseases and food safety. USAHA works with state and federal governments, universities, veterinarians, livestock producers, national livestock and poultry organizations, research scientists, the extension service and seven foreign countries to control livestock diseases in the United States. USAHA represents all 50 states, 7 foreign countries and 18 allied groups serving health, technical and consumer markets. Any inquires to this notice must be submitted via email to the Contracting Officer Todd Bierl at todd.k.bierl@usda.gov. Any responses are due by Thursday, September 29, 2016 3:00 p.m. CT.
