- The United States Naval Observatory (USNO) requires spare parts for its Deep South Telescope (DST), which is a PlaneWave PW1000 telescope model. The telescope is located at the Cerro Tololo Interamerican Observatory (CTIO) in Chile, South America. This is a risk mitigation purchase and supports operational readiness. These unique parts are subject to wear and tear or electronic failure. Having these essential spare parts available on site is prudent in case of a failure to recover with minimal down time.
