- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIRSYSCOM) issued a Delivery Order, N0001920F0748, under Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA), N00019-16-G-0005, to General Electric Company (GE Aviation) for the award of project management as well as recurring and non-recurring engineering support, materials and documentation to implement, manage and report on Cost Reduction Initiatives (CRI) for the T408 Engine. This effort was procured in accordance with the statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition under 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as implemented by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1(a)(2), in that General Electric Company (GE Aviation) is the designer, developer, and sole producer of the T408 Engine and the only known source that possesses the data, technical skills, and requisite knowledge of the design, fabrication, performance, operation, maintenance, and support characteristics of the T408 to fulfill this need in a timely manner.
