The proposed project includes the repair/rehabilitation of the following assets on Rio Mora National Wildlife Refuge (RIMO): Main Entrance Road ""A"" from NM-161 � Rehabilitation with a new gravel surface sloped to match the cross slope of the adjacent land wherever possible to maximize sheet flow and minimize concentrating drainage/runoff flows. � The typical section will be a two-way roadway with a graveled width of 22 feet (18 feet existing). � New entrance gate and formalized parking for 4 vehicles. � Installation of a culvert to convey flows from an agricultural pond beneath the entrance road. Main Entrance Road ""B"" � Rehabilitation with a new gravel surface sloped to match the cross slope of the adjacent land wherever possible to maximize sheet flow and minimize concentrating drainage/runoff flows. The typical section will be a two-way roadway with a graveled width of 22 feet up from 18 feet existing. Administration Parking Area & Environmental Education Building Parking � Rehabilitation with a new gravel surface. � Provide concrete pads for ADA accessible parking. Maintenance Area Parking, Thaw Lodge Parking and Bunkhouse Parking � Rehabilitation with a new gravel surface Items worth noting The refuge will remain closed to the public during construction with only authorized access by the staff, research, and educational programs. Principal Work Items Approximate quantities for major work items: � 5000 cubic yard of Roadway Excavation � 13000 Tons of Aggregate surface course � 2150 Liner feet Post and cable fence � 4 each, Cattle guard, 24 feet wide Bison gate Estimated price range � $1.5 to $2.5 million CONSTRUCTION DURATION: Anticipated Start: December 2020 Anticipated Completion: April 2021
