- THIS SOURCES SOUGHT/REQUEST FOR INFORMATION IS ISSUED FOR INFORMATION AND PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY AND IS NOT CONSIDERED A SOLICITATION. The purpose of this sources sought/RFI is to gain knowledge of businesses that are capable of satisfying the following work requirements: STATEMENT OF WORK Annual Boiler Maintenance 1.0 Scope of Work The contractor will perform annual boiler maintenance and inspections at the Boston Healthcare System, West Roxbury Division. Contractor is responsible for all labor, materials, tools and special equipment required to perform the work. Equipment: Building 20 PH (3) Aerco 750 Natural Gas Fisher House (1) Burnham P810HNEI-L2 Natural Gas 2.0 Performance Requirements Perform annual boiler maintenance, inspection and testing in accordance with manufactures recommendations to complete items listed in the attached boiler maintenance checklist. All work shall be performed during normal working hours, which exclude Saturdays, Sundays, Holidays and the hours prior to 7:00 A.M. and after 6:00 P.M. The Contractor shall complete the following tasks: Shut down boiler at controls & fuel source Drain down boiler & review manufacture procedures Check boiler for corrosion, pitting, scale, blisters, bulges, and soot. Inspect refractory / heat exchanger Clean per manufacture recommendations Check the gas supply piping, regulators, isolation valves for wear or leaks Test the high/low gas pressure switch, calibrate if needed Verify the operation of the flow switch Inspect and clean burner, igniter assembly Inspect and clean fan Inspect flue and flue damper Run fan and check for vibration Inspect for cleanness Inspect/check wiring and connections Inspect /check operation of low water cutoff Inspect / check operation of operating and limit controls Verify water level in boiler Test safety/relief valve Adjust electrodes/igniters Perform combustion test and adjust as needed for efficiency. Review operating procedures with operation set-up Log operating conditions Comments / Action items / Notes Period of Performance: A base period of 2 consecutive weeks plus four (4) option periods that will be 2 weeks each. The options may or may not be exercised. Place of Performance: 1400 VFW Parkway, West Roxbury, MA, 02132 Responses to this sources sought will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. After review of the responses to this sources sought, a solicitation announcement may be published. Responses to this sources sought notice are not considered adequate responses for a solicitation announcement. Responses to this sources sought/RFI are due by 1 pm EST time on October 14, 2020. Responses to this notice shall be submitted via email to issa.shawki@va.gov. Telephone responses shall not be accepted. If a solicitation is issued it shall be announced at a later date, and all interest parties must response to that solicitation announcement separately from the responses to this request for information. Responses to this notice are not a request to be added to a prospective bidders list or to receive a copy of the solicitation. The NAICS code for this requirement is 811310 and a small size standard of $8,000,000.00
