Description

This is a notice of the government�s intent to award a Sole Source, fixed price contract to Dakota Software (1375 Euclid Ave. Suite 500 Cleveland, Ohio 44115) to provide the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) with Dakota Proactivity Suite Software Maintenance. �� This acquisition is being conducted on a sole-source basis pursuant to the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b). The Government has a need to renew Dakota Proactivity Suite Support to continue to provide BEP a self-hosted web based environmental, health, and safety compliance auditing and findings management solution. The proposed contractor�s unique qualifications and the nature of the acquisition requires use of the authority cited as follows: i. The proposed contractor developed and owns the propriety and patented software and algorithms that are used in these products and support the services specifically required for this acquisition; thereby the proposed source has the sole unique technical and other resources required for this acquisition; ii. The Government currently uses the proposed contractor�s brand name product at both Washington DC and Ft. Worth Texas its facilities. The software has been customized and government personnel have been trained in its use. This brand name product supports the Government need to achieve and maintain Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance in support tracking and auditing EHS findings are in Dakota. Due to the fact that the manufacturer Dakota Software does not authorize any other service providers or resellers, this requirement must be sole sourced directly to Dakota Software. Purchase of any other software or support would not be compatible with the existing software. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, vendors may identify their capability to respond to this requirement by the close of this posting,�to Paul Garner via email at Paul.V.Garner@irs.gov.� Responses must demonstrate the interested party�s capability to perform all of the services for this requirement.� Information received from this notice will be used solely to determine whether competitive procedures will be used.� This notice does not constitute a commitment by the government to pay preparation costs, submission costs, or any other costs incurred in response to this notice.
