- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to The University of North Carolina Medical Center Cohort (UNCMCC).��The University of North Carolina Medical Center Cohort has enrolled and is prospectively following over 150 nurses, doctors, and ancillary hospital staff at the University of North Carolina Medical Center, a 803-bed tertiary care facility in Chapel Hill, NC. Every two weeks, UNC-MCC quantifies the risk of exposure to SARS-CoV-2 in the cohort and assesses for symptoms such as fever or cough using a brief, electronic questionnaire. The baseline questionnaire launched in April, 2020. Participants and enrolled on a rolling basis, and enrollment continues. The University of North Carolina Medical Center Cohort provides a unique dataset to accomplish the NIOSH research goals. This is the only prospective cohort of workers and their household contacts. Additionally, the University of North Carolina Medical Center Cohort is uniquely poised to address NIOSH aims because all workers from a single hospital system, allowing NIOSH researchers the unique opportunity to integrate hospital-level PPE and COVID-19 information into the analysis. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested parties may identify their interest and submit documentation of their capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all responses received within seven (7) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government.� A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.� Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.� Any response should be emailed to the appropriate point of contact at �EEH3@cdc.gov by 11:00 AM on 3 November 2020.
