Description

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) awarded a sole-source contract modification under contract N00019-16-C-0048�with Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin Company to provide non-recurring engineering to support the CH-53K Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP) Production Readiness Reviews (PRR).� The LRIP PRR�s will be conducted to support a CH-53K Full Rate Production (FRP) decision. Specific tasking includes manufacturing, Systems Engineering and Program Management, and supplier management to conduct incremental PRRs in support of a final Executive Production Readiness Review (ePRR).�This requirement was pursued on a sole source basis in accordance with the statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition under Title 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1), as implemented by FAR Part 6.302-1, �Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.� Sikorsky�is the sole designer, developer and systems integrator of the CH-53K series Helicopter. As such Sikorsky�is the only known responsible source with the knowledge, in-depth experience, technical data, tooling and test equipment required to perform this effort within the required schedule.
