- Description
- The purpose of this modification to the amendment is to incorporate Attachment D Cemetery Maps and to address questions from prospective vendors. Question 1: Can the government provide a breakdown of the 116,226 headstones and flat markers. How many are headstones and how many are flat markers? Answer 1: 7,100 flats and 109,126 Uprights Question 2: After viewing the cemetery, there appears to be a need for cross cutting in between headstones as there is an evident lip running down each headstone row. Is cross cutting between headstones perpendicular to the row a requirement and if so, how many times per year or of the 44 mowing services, is this required? Answer 2: Cross cutting is not in the SOW, but strongly recommended based on industry standards. Question 3: After viewing the cemetery, there was a large number of irrigation heads in the cemetery that were not lowered. Is the contractor responsible for lowering these irrigation heads prior to mowing to prevent damage? Answer 3: No Question 4: Can the government provide acreage by cemetery section? Answer 4: See Attachment D to this amendment. Question 5: Can the government provide gravesite sizes by section? No. Question 6: What types of grass are currently in the Cemetery? Answer 6: Bermuda and Bermuda hybrids. Question 7: Please confirm there is no cross-cutting required under this contract? Answer 7: Cross cutting is not in the SOW, but strongly recommended based on industry standards. Question 8: What are the necessary mower sizes to perform the mowing? Answer 8: Contractor determines size of mowers to be used. Question 9: Please confirm that no irrigation maintenance is required on this solicitation? Answer 9: No irrigation maintenance is required. Question 10: Please confirm that no fertilizing is required under this solicitation? Answer 10: No fertilizing is required. Question 11: Can you provide the number of mowers that is needed to perform the mowing? Answer 11: Determined by contractor. Question 12: Can the government provide an aerial photo identifying the laydown area? Answer 12: See area indicated on Attachment D. Question 13: Is there water and electricity in the laydown area? Answer 13: No. Question 14: Are portable restrooms allowed in the laydown area? Answer 14: Yes. Question 15: During the site visit, it was stated that two 40 yd dumpsters are needed every month to dispose of flowers. Is the expectation of continuing to utilize the same amount of dumpsters for the next five years? Answer 15: Contractor determines the number of dumpsters needed to dispose of items from floral pick up. It is reasonable assumption that approximately the same volume will be needed. Question 16: The optimal mowing height of bermudagrass ranges from 0.75 to 3.5 . What is the preferred mowing height of the cemetery? Answer 16: See Attachment A Performance Work Statement, items 3.1.1. and 3.3 Semi-Improved Grounds Mowing and Trimming for acceptable minimums and maximums for grass heights.
