Description

Statement of Need VAPOTHERM PRECISION HIGH FLOW BRAND NAME OR EQUAL IN ACCORDANCE WITH 52.211-6 The Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre, Medical service and the Respiratory Therapy department has determined the need to purchase of Vapotherm Precision High Flow machine or equivalent. Description The device allows the patient to assess high flows of oxygen and decrease the work of breathing in Covid-19 patients. It s also a non-invasive device (NIPPV) that is an alternate device that helps decrease the number of intubations and mechanical ventilation. Capabilities Provides ventilatory support clinically proven non-inferior to NIPPV without the need for a tight-fitting respiratory mask. Device can allow hospitals readiness for a broad range of patient acuity, from supporting the oxygenation and humidification needs of COVID-19 patients, to hypercapnic COPD patients. Applications Flow Range: 1-60 L/min (default) Temperature Range: 33C- 37C ( increments/ fixed) Requirements: No requirements, items or training are needed Quantity: 4 Delivery: Delivery accepted at VAMC Wilkes Barre, Warehouse, 1111 East End Blvd, Wilkes Barre, PA 18711; Weekdays 8:00am 4:00pm, excluding any government holidays.
