Description
Sources Sought Notice 2020-00377 Item Name: Servo valve, Hydraulic NSN: 4810-01-391-8454 Part Number: 9377768 Quantity: 259 (259 Option) End Item: M1 Abrams Tank RESPONSE DATE: 12/16/2020 1:00 PM Eastern REQUIREMENTS DESCRIPTION: The Hydraulic Servo valve controls the rotation of the turret. The Hydraulic Servo valve consists of first, second and third stage servos to precisely control the turret positioning. The Hydraulic Servo valve contains a cross over relief valve, keep full valve and relief valve to provide for precise movement of the turret in azimuth. The traverse servomechanism controls the direction and flow of hydraulic fluid in response to an electrical signal, with smooth transition between normal and emergency modes of operation. Major components of the assembly include: a. Servo valve (9377683). b. Position transducer (12283304). c. Pressure transducer (12283390). d. Filter and relief valve (12283641). The Government currently does not have a Technical Data Package (TDP) to purchase this part from other than the current source(s). WOODWARD HRT has developed, tested, and obtained Government approval for this item for application in the M1 Abrams tank at their own cost. Only WOODWARD HRT has the capability to supply the Hydraulic Servo valve. Installing hardware that has not undergone similar verifications could lead to a failure of the tanks steering system. Under battlefield conditions, such a failure will render the tank unable to proceed with its mission function and will endanger the life of the crew. Please Note: -This notice is not an open solicitation i.e., Invitation for Bid (IFB) or Request for Proposal (RFP). -Technical data is not available for this item. -Qualification testing and evaluation is required to become an approved source. -Source approval does not guarantee business. -Qualifying as an approved source only provides the opportunity to compete on future solicitations.
