Description

The Pacific Northwest Research Station (PNW) � Corvallis, OR, intends to issue a firm fixed price, sole source award to University of Illinois, Roy J. Carver Biotechnology Center, 28392 Network Place, Chicago, IL 60673-for Fluidigm PCR amplification at the Corvallis Forestry Sciences Laboratory in Corvallis, OR. This procurement is being conducted under FAR Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1). To solicit to another source would not provide for the required Fluidigm Access Array amplification required to perform the expertise to manage the complexities of the specific experiments in order to maintain metagenomic sequence; high-level sample multiplexing and potentially cause financial harm to the Government. The anticipated award date is January 7, 2021. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 541714 and the size standard is 1,000 in number of employees. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement is based on the need to assess environmental DNA (eDNA) samples using Fluidigm microfluidic amplification and eDNA metabarcoding for the continuity of ongoing research. �A solicitation will not be issued.
