- Description
- The understanding on the effects that highly dilute levels of radium paint has on marine biota is limited due to the absence of scientific literature. Therefore, it is necessary to address these gaps in knowledge to further the understanding of any possible trophic (food chain) ramifications and develop methods to address this emergent issue. This study intends to develop a quantitative model that couples the geochemical behavior of dilute radium to marine biota uptake and to better understand any site-specific risk that this may pose in order to ensure protection to sensitive marine ecological niches.
