- S02 NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE COVID-19 ABATEMENT TECH Page 1 of 1 The RPO East/NCO 6 Contracting Office, Hampton, Virginia, intends to award a sole source purchase order to Abatement Technologies, Inc. as a result of the vendor being the only authorized reseller/distributor of the HC500CD HEPA-CARE Digital ceiling mounted HEPA filtration system with HC1802AM prefilter, HC1818-H14 HEPA filter, and wall mounted control box. Abatement Technologies, Inc. is capable of delivering this product under the current emergent time constraints. The HC500CD HEPA-CARE Air Purification System is a commercial off the shelf product designed and manufactured by Abatement Technologies, Inc. The Salem VA Medical Center Dental Clinic staff cannot safely complete procedures without this unit in place. The current floor model does not circulate near where the aerosols are being generated in the dental chair. Staff safety is a concern because the above-ceiling unit can better capture aerosols and remove them from the air being circulated. The risk to our staff are at a higher risk of inhaling aerosols because the existing unit is too far away from the point of generation. For continuity of care and ability to order parts and service from the current sole source supplier would enhance efficiency and cost savings. Changing resources would impede this COVID-19 Emergency requirement as brand name request and with Abatement Technologies, Inc. as sole source distributor we will pursuing a single source firm fixed price award for this procurement. This purchase will be made under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and Other than Full and Open Competition as authorized IAW FAR Part subpart 13.106-1(b)). The anticipated award date is 17 December 2020. Please note that this is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all interested parties who believe they can meet the requirements are invited to submit in writing complete information describing their ability to provide the product/services listed above. Deadline date for the submittals is 16 December 2020 0900 (9am) Eastern Standard Time. A determination by the government not to compete this requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
