Description

The NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center (NASA AFRC) has a requirement to support the NASA's X-59 Low Boom Flight Demonstrator (LBFD).�The specific requirement for sustainment services and supplies associated maintaining the flightworthiness of the aircraft platform GE F414-100 turbofan engines during Phase 1-3 flight activities. NASA/AFRC intends to issue a sole source contract to acquire the services from�General Electric (GE) Aviation in accordance with�(FAR) 6.302-1, ""Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements"" as they are the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of the�GE F414-100 engines.� The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. ��� Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort electronically via email to Jennifer Schnarr at jennifer.schnarr@nasa.gov�not later than 5:00pm Pacific Time on Thursday, December 28, 2020.�Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this acquisition on a competitive basis.�A determination by the Government not to compete this acquisition on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
