- The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) is conducting market research to determine the availability of qualified businesses capable of providing CTD profiler as described in the Salient Characteristics described below. This sources-sought announcement is not a request for quote or proposal and the Government is not committed to award of a purchase order or contract pursuant to this announcement. The information resulting from this market research is simply for planning purposes to assist the Government in determining its acquisition strategy. The Government will not pay for any costs incurred in the preparation of information for responding to this notice. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code � 334519 Other measuring and controlling device manufacturing and associated size standard of 500 employees apply to this announcement. All responsible sources may submit a brochure and/or technical specifications detailing the ability of their product to meet the salient characteristics included with this announcement. Responses to this announcement shall only be accepted through electronic mail addressed to Cheryl Ciccarelli cciccarelli@usgs.gov and must be uploaded and received in their entirety no later than December 23, 2020. Responses submitted by hardcopy will not be accepted or considered. Salient Characteristics for CTD profiler. CTD is an oceanography instrument used to measure the conductivity, temperature, and pressure of seawater. 4 Hz sampling capability, 64 MB memory, 6 differential A/D channels, wet-pluggable connectors, a cage to house the instrument, TC duct (temperature and conductivity cell opening) and a 5p submersible pump. The profiler is to be configured with a pumped conductivity, temperature and depth recorder with a 350m strain-gauge pressure sensor, a DO sensor, and pH/ORP sensor, and an ECO-FLNTU fluorometer/turbidity sensor. The system must have a closed pump flow path.
