Description
THIS IS AN INDUSTRY DAY ANNOUNCEMENT; ISSUED BY THE NAVAL SEA SYSTEMS COMMAND (NAVSEA), ON BEHALF OF THE SUPPORT SHIPS, BOATS, AND CRAFT PROGRAM OFFICE (PMS325) FOR INFORMATION AND PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY. I. SUMMARY On behalf of the Support Ships, Boats, and Craft Program Office (PMS325), the Naval Sea Systems Command announces a 2nd Industry Day for the Next Generation Logistics Ship (NGLS). The NGLS is planned to be a new class of ships to augment the current Combat Logistics Force ships, through the use of commercial ship designs tailored for military applications to conduct logistics missions. In order to discuss Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) concerning the NGLS program at this Industry Day, attendance will be limited to those companies that are prospective prime contractors and significant subcontractors for a potential future industry studies solicitation. Specifically, attendance will be limited to companies that are a U.S. shipyard capable of constructing NGLS, a ship owner possessing a design(s) that may be used as a basis for NGLS, or a ship design agent capable of developing NGLS design(s). At this time, there is no additional information concerning the future industry studies nor a specific timeframe for releasing a solicitation. The Navy plans to conduct industry studies on the NGLS program in Fiscal Year 2021, but whether a solicitation is issued will depend on the appropriation of funds in order to conduct the studies. II. DATE, LOCATION, REGISTRATION The Industry Day will be held on Wednesday, 13 January 2021, at 1300 hours Eastern Standard Time via teleconference. The meeting will be a discussion of mission and technical issues related to the initial set of requirements of the NGLS. The meeting will be via Microsotft Teams teleconference only (details will be provided to registered participants). There will not be an in-person brief due to continued public health concerns. Representatives must be U.S. citizens and no more than two (2) representatives will be allowed from each company.
