Description
REQUEST FOR INFORMATION SMC Portfolio Architect-Engineering, Modular Open Standards and Specifications (MOSS) Working Group (WG) 1.0 Description 1.1 The Los Angeles Air Force Base (LAAFB) Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) Specifications and Standards (S&S) program, in support of the Modular Open Standards and Specifications (MOSS) Working Group (WG), is seeking information from interested contractors to provide recommendations on approaches to achieving consensus-based interface standards, including selecting from existing industry interface standards, missing standards that need development, and flexible/hybrid approaches that SMC should consider implementing across its portfolio to include Space, Ground, and Launch Systems. 1.2 THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes it does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP in the future. This request for information does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. Further, SMC is not at this time seeking proposals and will not accept unsolicited proposals. SMC is planning to acquire systems with an enterprise integration focus. This requires SMC to establish key Government controlled interfaces and standards that will apply to all future acquisitions. By providing SMC with a recommended list of consensus-based industry interface standards to consider using across the enterprise, industry respondees will have the opportunity to influence and shape those key SMC interface standards. Respondees are advised that the US Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI; all costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested partys expense. Participation in this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP, if any is issued. If an official solicitation is released, it will be synopsized on the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) betaSAM website with the title RFI Industry Consensus-Based Interface Standards. It is the responsibility of the potential offerors to monitor this site for additional information pertaining to the requirements.
