Description
COMBINED HEATING AND POWER PLANT TURBINE/GENERATOR OVERHAUL STATEMENT OF WORK GENERAL INTENTION: This Statement of Work describes the service necessary to overhaul the Steam Turbine located at 5500 Armstrong Road, Battle Creek, Michigan, Combined Heating and Power (CHP) plant.� Equipment consists of a complete Engineered Turbine Generator skid (attached).� This includes a Coppus Model RLHA-24 steam turbine, a Murray model K steam turbine, a Lufkin Gear model N1400C gearbox, and an Ideal Generator model SAB 2200 kW generator with Ewing Controls.� Contractor will provide Craft labor support with supervision, tooling/specialty tooling, forklift, air compressor, on-site glassbead/sandblast and other miscellaneous special tooling/handling equipment. � PERFORMANCE PERIOD/SCHEDULE: The contractor shall fully complete the work required under this Statement of Work (SOW) in 21 calendar days of beginning work.� � Any portions of the work outlined in this Statement of Work which cannot be performed without the system being operational will be coordinated with the Contracting Officer Representative (COR). �Any utility interruptions shall be coordinated and scheduled through the COR. Any necessary repairs, or additional services, that emerge from the inspection will be administered through a contract change notice. Coordinate the work schedule with the COR so that VA can prepare the boilers in advance and have personnel available to monitor the work. The COR is Robert J Pavlovic. � REQUIRED TASKS Turbine/generator inspection and overhaul.� This includes, but not limited to:�� Base Scope: Packaged Steam Turbine and Generator Outage � Borescope the LP � Pull cover on the HP to inspect turbine rotor and replace carbon seals � Inspect bearings. HP(2) HP thrust(1) LP(2) thrust(1) Gearbox(4) thrust(1) Generator(2) � Inspect HP trip valve � Inspect HP control valve � Inspect gear box. Perform a gear contact check � Pull generator end shields and check end windings and rotor in place � Electrical checks on generator rotor, stator and exciter. � Open and inspect HP non-return valve. Paper check on disk to seat. Lift check for bushing clearances. � PM checks on Woodward governor and start up support � Stator testing. Power Factor, Megger, Winding Resistance � Rotor testing. Megger, Winding Resistance � Brush-less Exciter. Megger, visual inspection � Generator Breaker. Maintenance cleaning & Inspection, Megger, Contact Resistance, � Test integrity of Hi-pot Vacuum Bottles. � Generator Cables to the breaker. Megger � Generator Protection Relay. Test the programed functions and verify if trip power is available. � Renew lubricating oil � Drain water and dirt from reservoir/ bearing housing; top off oil as needed � Check instrument air & lube oil filters; replace as needed � Provide a completed report with overhaul findings/corrections/recommendations.� � QUALIFICATOINS The contractor shall provide certification and/or experience with Turbine/Generator inspecting and testing of a Coppus Model RLHA-24 steam turbine, a Murray model K steam turbine, a Lufkin Gear model N1400C gearbox, and an Ideal Generator model SAB 2200 kW generator with Ewing Controls.� The contractor will provide Craft labor support with supervision, tooling/specialty tooling, forklift, air compressor, on-site glassbead/sandblast and other miscellaneous special tooling/handling equipment.� The contractor shall provide certification and/or experience of mechanical maintenance which will include tooling and supervision. The contractor shall provide certification and/or experience of Turbine/Generator Control knowledge, calibration, and testing for the turbine/generator system identified in 4.a. � Battle Creek, Michigan 49037
