Description
This is a Notice of Intent to award to a sole-source contractor. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE. The United States Air Force (USAF) intends to award a sole-source contract to Scientific Research Corporation. The USAF requires four (4) A5 Video Circuit Cards and four (4) A10 Audio Circuit Cards for the 402nd Software Engineering Group (SWEG), Robins Air Force Base, Georgia. These supplies are part of the AN/ALR-46/69 Rapid Processor Upgrade (RPU) and consist of hardware replacements for the A5 Video Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) and the A10 Audio CCA. The contractor shall provide the following for this requirement: CLIN 0001: CM-479 A5 Video Circuit Card Assembly - 1 Set (4 each) CLIN 0002: CM-479 A10 Audio Circuit Card Assembly - 1 Set (4 each) Scientific Research Corporation is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of this equipment and has no authorized resellers for these items. These supplies are deemed to be available only from the original source, Scientific Research Corporation, because this effort is for the continued follow-on production of major component(s) and it is likely that the award to any other source would result in substantial duplication of cost or unacceptable delays to the government. These cards are integral to the AN/ALR-46/69 Class IV Radar Warning Receiver (RWR). Scientific Research Corporation developed the prototypes for the A5 Video CCAs and A10 Audio CCAs. They are the only cards that meet interface requirements, dimensions, frequency and related system criteria in relation to other components of the AN/ALR-46/69 RPU system. Any other vendor would require significant research and development to provide A5 Video CCA and A10 Audio CCA support in form, fit and function provided by the design from Scientific Research Corporation. Please contact Mark Vanderhoek at mark.vanderhoek@us.af.mil by NLT6 January 2021 by 2:00PM for all questions and concerns. The government intends to award a contract for this requirement on or about 29 January 2021.
