Description
Sump Pump / Zueller Pump / Flash Tank Piping / Water Softner (SoW) 1. Scope of work: 1) Existing boiler plant sump pump drain discharge line is blocked. 2) Zuller pump must be replace 3) Flash tank piping must be replace. This emergency service contract is to provide all labor, tools, material, and special equipment necessary to replace the following: 1) Sump pump drain line 2) Zueller pump and 3) Flash tank piping. Service will be provided at the engineering utility boiler plant at Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 7305 N. Military Trail, West Palm Beach, FL 33410 2. Statement of Work: Sump pump drainline Before site work commence a site meeting with awarded Contractor, COR and Utility Operations Supervisor must be schedule. The purpose of this meeting will serve to address the following items as may be appropriate. a. Review plant safety regulations and lockout/tagout procedures b. Discuss the nature of the planned contractor s activities c. Coordinate the contractor s inspection activities d. Review equipment background information e. The start-up and shut-down schedule will be discussed and agreed upon by both the VA and Contractor prior to the start of any on-site work f. The contractor will be required to perform all necessary site survey, verifying / analyzing existing defective drainline g. All labor, material, and equipment associated with the replacement of the sump pump drain line h. Verify VA furnished requirements/drawings is accurate. It is the contractor's responsibility to determine existing conditions and to base the inspection/replacement on this information. Also, the contractor shall review all existing drawings (If provided by the VAMC) and determine those required to be used for this project, to insure no systems deficiencies i. Secure work area for safety of all personnel at the work site before work commence j. Remove existing 3 drainline and replace with like pipe from the pit to the drain line clean out located on drawing provided by the VA k. Remove all excavated material/concrete from the site daily l. Ensure proper fill is supporting and covering the new replacement pipe m. The Contractor will restore foundation to original specs to ensure the replacement fill and concrete does not collapse or separate after installation o. Contractor will confirm discharging into the drain line and flowing efficiently. 3. Statement of work: Replacement Zueller sump pump a. Remove and replace one (1) Zueller pump b. Reuse the existing check valve, 90 s and all copper piping associated with the pumps in the boiler plant c. Contractor will confirm the pumps are discharging into the drain line properly and flowing efficiently. 4. Statement of work: Flash Tank Piping a. Replace piping starting at the union on the blow down tank to the sump pump. 5. SITE REQUIREMENTS Outlined below are activities and/or services the VA/Contractor will provide to support the scope of work being proposed by contractor as defined under section 2. of this statement of work a. Appoint a representative who will be the contractor s primary contact at the VA b. The contractor must provide copies of prints, drawings, Manufacturer's Data Reports, or similar specifications as available c. Contractor personnel can make use of plant lavatory and washroom facilities d. Parking will be adjacent to the Engneering Control Center (ECC) e. The contractor must furnish plans, drawings, prints or specifications (As-Builts) after completeion of project g. The VA will provide ventilation as required for personnel to work in confined spaces 6. Contractor s Quality Control: The Job Site Superintendent will: a. Review and approve submittals, b. Inspect the quality of work performed daily. c. Certify the completed work for payment and other purposes. 7. Submittals: a. After Award, submit manufacture s literature and specifications for all components, equipment, and materials installed (As-built) to perform the work to the COR for close-out of project. 8. POC: The Contracting Officer s Representative (COR) for this project is: Mcvorran Burnett, Facilities Management Service (FMS) HVAC Supervisor, cell 561-662-2277 VA Medical Center West Palm Beach, Florida. 9. Project completion: The project site shall be restored to a condition equal to that existing prior to the commencement of work. a. Haul away & dispose of all debris and waste to an approved disposal site. b. Thoroughly clean up the work area at the end of each day s work, and at completion of the project. Leave the premises clean and free of waste, scrap, used equipment, or other material intentionally or incidentally delivered to the site by Contractor or Contractor s personnel. c. Contractor may need to schedule work during off peak hours and coordinate outages. Coordinate with COR as needed. 12. Delivery: This service contractor will perform work starting on a weekday or weekend at 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM and completing all necessary work, if contractors need to extend the work hours, a request will be submitted and approved by the COR before starting work for that request. 13. Warranty: All work performed shall have a minimum of a one-year warranty covering material and labor.
