- Description
- This Sources Sought notice is for informational and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation or commitment by the Government at this time. This notice is intended strictly for market research. The purpose of this Sources Sought notice is to determine interest and capability of companies that can perform the following: The Hines VA Hospital (located in Hines, IL) would like to procure a Maintenance and Service Agreement for the Pyxis dispense machines at the Hines VA Hospital. Please respond if you can provide the products with the following general specifications: Background Rx-Framework for VA systems is a group of interfaces that send and/or receive data from Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA) to vendor machines and vice versa. By transmitting this data, a workflow is created by automating the communication processes between different devices, in this case, between Omnicell dispense machines and VistA. Rx-Framework will replace the current DSS product, ILC Interface upon completion. Hines VA Hospital will be primarily using the Pyxis dispense machines throughout the facility. This proposal is for the new Pyxis interface with the Rx-Framework. Objectives To successfully transfer Admission, Discharge and Transfer (ADT) messages generated in VistA to Pyxis, Surgery and Scheduling Information Unsolicited (SIU) messages from VistA to Pyxis, Pharmacy Order messages from VistA to Pyxis, Pre-Exchange, Missing Dose, Pick List, and On-Demand messages from VistA to Pyxis and Allergy messages from VistA to Pyxis via Rx-Framwork Interface. Scope This project must meet Veterans Affairs (VA) Directive 6500 and implement Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS 199) for all laptop devices and National Institute of Standards and Technology Special Publication 800-53 for all desktop devices when VA sensitive information is involved, or additional mitigating controls must be documented in an approved System Security Plan (SSP) to prevent potential disclosure of PII/PHI data. Additionally, projects which interface with external VA partners must have a Memorandum of Understanding and Interconnection Security Agreements (MOU/ISA), which detail the security requirements for users and systems that share information and resources outside of the VA production network. Tasks or Requirements Rx-Framework will utilize Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) sockets to send and receive version 1.6 Health Level 7 (HL7) messages. HL7 version 2.4 standards will be utilized for message structure and consumption. Three kid files (DSII 1.3, DSII 1.3P1, and DSIIC 1.1) will be installed; Pyxis will then upgrade the interface on the system in Hines VA Hospital; DSS will stop the current ILC Interface system and configure the RX Framework; Lastly, the ILC Interface will be removed. Selection Criteria Hines VA Hospital is primarily using the Pyxis dispense machines throughout the facility. The DSS product upgrade from the ILC interface to the Rx-Framework interface also requires the vendor dispense machine, Pyxis, for the interface upgrade. Deliverables or Deliver Schedule No shipping charges The installation of the interface shall be within 90 days of the date of award. Place of Performance Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital This is not a Request for Proposal or an announcement of a solicitation and no solicitation currently exists. Your responses will be used solely for market research purposes of the Government. The Government will not pay for any materials provided in response to this notice and submissions will not be returned to the sender. Responses due are to be submitted by e-mail to Brandon Bennett at Brandon.Bennett@va.gov. The information requested must be received no later than 10:00am on 01/12/2020.
