- Description
- The purpose of this amendment is to respond to vendor questions and extend the solicitation period. The due date for quotes has been extended from January 27th to January 29th at 8am CT. Vendor questions and responses are posted below: Please confirm the scope intent is to install a new 250kW load bank onto an existing portable generator trailer. It is, as stated in both the introduction as well as the background of the SOW Please confirm a new 550kW generator will NOT be provided under the requested scope. Sections A and C in the solicitation appear to conflict. The work is to install the load bank on the CK Power portable 550kw generator at the VA, we already have the generator here. If the generator is existing, what is the make (manufacturer) and size (rating in kW) of the generator? As stated in the SOW the brand is CK Power, 550kw is the size, model # CK680VM-T4 What are the minimum warranty requirements for the load bank? The VA expects 1 year warranty on parts and labor provided as part of this scope of work. Does a maintenance/service contract need to be provided, or will that be covered under an existing maintenance contract? No maintenance contract is requested in this scope of work Is the unit currently installed? The generator is not installed at any site currently, it is stored undercover behind our boiler plant, at the ready. Can it be relocated to our site for fabrication? At the contractor s expense, the unit is large and very heavy. If so, do they need a portable during that time? This will be left for discussion if needed, we hope we never need a portable but it is here for emergency use in the event of a failure, we are wanting it on station during our triennial electrical testing as we will be relying on our generators to power the station during normal power outages and keep this as a standby in the event of a failure of a permanently mounted generator. Time frame for load bank installation being the key if a portable replacement will be needed. Do you have any pictures? See attachments. I am hoping to find out if there is an incumbent contractor currently performing these services, if similar services have been performed in the past, or if this is a new requirement. No, this is a new requirement. If this is a follow-on requirement, could you please provide the previous contract or task order number? This is a new requirement.
