- Description
- Synopsis: The Next Generation Combat Vehicles Cross Functional Team (NGCV CFT) and Macomb Regional PTAC are partnering together to virtually host the next Industry Logistics Roundtable. Government participants will include representatives from Army Futures Command (AFC) NGCV CFT, Program Executive Office Ground Combat System (PEO GCS), Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC), TACOM, and others. PURPOSE OF MEETING: The NGCV CFT Industry Logistics Roundtable will provide a forum for Government and Industry to collaborate and have constructive dialogue on policy, processes, and updates occurring in the acquisition logistics community. This second Roundtable will provide an opportunity to follow-up on actions that have taken place since the last Roundtable in September 2019. During the first half of the discussion, Government briefers will provide insight on current efforts to modernize logistics policy, processes, and capabilities. Industry will have an opportunity to provide feedback and ask questions, and for Government and Industry to have shared dialogue to help solve and inform logistics modernization efforts and efficiencies. The second half of the discussion will be shaped by the content our industry participants wish to discuss based on the feedback to this announcement. Example areas are logistics requirements versus characteristics, strategies to reduce logistics burden, and sustaining unmanned platforms. Industry will have the opportunity to engage in process forming/altering discussions with the Government on informing logistics strategies and processes, as well as any perceived barriers to conducting business as it relates to logistics, logistics contracting, and logistics deliverables. The Roundtable should delve into the state of the logistics community and uncover whether change is needed to overcome challenges that are problematic to the Government, Contractors, and products for our Soldiers. We are seeking your initial feedback to help frame the interests of the topics that are discussed. Government briefings that take place may include updates to the latest DOD Instruction for Product Support Management and Prognostics and Predictive Maintenance (PPMx), also known as Condition Based Maintenance Plus (CBM+). The NGCV CFT would like your perspective on challenges and opportunities for making the logistics acquisition process more efficient and logistics products more effective; planning and execution of sustainment/logistics management; and execution of logistics contract processes during materiel acquisition. The NGCV CFT desires participation from all business socio-economic categories, across a variety of industries. Depending on demand, space may be limited to one or two participants per business. You may also establish one line for multiple individuals as the Roundtable will be hosted via Microsoft Teams or similar collaboration service. EXPECTATIONS OF ATTENDEES: The NGCV CFT is actively soliciting your comments/feedback. Please be willing and prepared to engage and discuss. Additionally, when discussing barriers or more efficient ways to do business, please be able to provide examples of issues along with your recommended solution(s).
