Description

Sources Sought Military Working Dog (MWD) Kennel Facility Upgrades Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) South East (SE) Public Works Department (PWD) Kings Bay, GA�is providing this sources sought in order to determine if there are sufficient potential offerors capable of successfully executing this work. The expectation is that this project would be a Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Design Build (DB), construction contract. Work includes, but is not limited to, an addition to and renovation of the MWD Kennel Facility, Building 2027 to at Naval Submarine Base (SUBASE) Kings Bay as follows: The addition will include the design and construction of an approximately 1,500 gross square foot Military Working Dog (MWD) unit located directly adjacent to and east of the existing MWD facility. The new facility will house military dogs and will include eight kennels (two of which are isolation kennels), an interior corridor, a mechanical room and a shared electrical and fire protection room. The existing exterior MWD areas (obstacle course area, break area, treatment room, exercise area and obedience course area) shall be adjusted to accommodate the adjacent MWD addition facility. Engineering disciplines required include structural, electrical including telecommunications, fire protection, civil, mechanical, and special construction including sealed slab work, wash down station, and dog houses. The renovation work to the existing, approximately 3,500 square foot kennel facility B2027 includes roof replacement, HVAC replacement, interior reconfiguration and renovations. Respondents must include references and a capability statement for a minimum of three (3) to a maximum of five (5) projects that meet the specific capabilities listed below: Projects completed as a prime contractor working in construction that demonstrates the capability to construct addition(s) to an existing facility and renovate the interior of an existing facility.� Additionally, projects submitted should show the respondents ability to execute the following trades: Design Build Mechanical work. Electrical work. Fire Protection work. Civil work. Structural work. Electrical work to include telecommunications. 3 projects of similar size, scope and complexity in the last 5 years. Construction size: between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000.
