Description
URGENT BOAT REPAIR - MARINE GENERATOR REPLACEMENT This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. All questions must be sent directly to capplegate@usgs.gov by 05/06/2021 1200 PDT. Contractor is responsible for reading the contents of this document and attachments. Quotes will be accepted via e-mail at capplegate@usgs.gov. Quotes submitted through any on-line portal will not be considered. The solicitation number is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) 140G0321Q0078. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2021-05, Effective 03/10/2021. SET-ASIDE FOR SMALL BUSINESS NAICS: 336611; Boat Building and Repairing; Size Standard = 1,250 Employees PSC: K020; Modification of Equipment - Ship and Marine Equipment DESCRIPTION The David H. Peterson is a 64' aluminum catamaran with a 24' beam; 45 gross tons. For the safety of the vessel and life at sea, (2) marine generators are required in order to safely provide a backup system should a generator fail while underway. The inability of a generator will leave the vessel inoperable and in danger of damage or grounding putting personnel at danger. The USGS requires services to replace a Northern Lights 25kw marine generator (same or equal) in the port engine room. Offerors are to include a technical description of the services being offered in sufficient detail to evaluate compliance with the requirements in the solicitation as seen in the Evaluation Factors as seen in the Attachment.
