- Goodwin Education Center Building Addition Solicitation # 140L1221B0002 The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) intends to issue a Solicitation for a firm fixed-price contract for the Bakersfield Office, to improve the existing educational building to the Goodwin Education Center. This procurement is set aside for total small business, and will be issued as an Invitation For Bid (IFB) using FAR Part 14 Sealed Bidding procedures. The work to be performed is described below. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 237990 and the related small business size standard is $39.5M. The estimated cost of this project is estimated between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00. Work is located at The Goodwin Education Center is located at 17495 Soda Lake Road, Santa Margarita, CA 93453. Latitude: 35.189879, Longitude: -119.863285. It is located within the Carrizo Plain National Monument. PRINCIPAL COMPONENTS OF WORK: This project consists of construction of an addition, improvements to the existing building, and exterior site improvements. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to complete the project as described in this Statement of Work, and further detailed in the �Goodwin Education Center Building Addition� Upon completion, the building addition and existing building shall be ready for occupancy and be ready to function for the intended use. Required construction services include civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, and electrical. The general scope of work includes, but is not limited to, the following improvements: � Construction of an 810 square foot addition to the existing building, slab on grade � Interior cabinets, countertops, and checkout counter � HVAC: Three (3) mini-split air conditioners (with heat pump) � Electrical improvements including 100-amp panel board for addition � Interior and exterior lighting upgrades on existing building (to match addition) � Fire alarm assembly � Telecommunications line � low voltage � New standing seam metal roof, gutters, and downspouts on addition and existing building � Exterior paint on addition and existing building � Rolling metal security shutters for all windows on addition and existing building � Extend existing concrete sidewalk to access the addition � Relocation of aggregate trails around addition � Construction of drainage swale around addition � Relocation of existing underground 2-inch waterline around the addition and relocation of frost-proof yard hydrant. � Replace existing concrete slab at vault toilet to provide ADA accessibility This project does not include fire protection. No improvements to the existing parking lot are required.
