- SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE Urgent Care Physician Services The Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC), on behalf of the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center (OJVAMC), 325 East H Street, Iron Mountain, MI 49801-4760, intends to award a contract to an Emergency Medicine/Urgent Care Group that can provide Hospitalist Services through a one year plus up to four one-year options contract. The OJVAMC is a Level 3 facility: Outpatient Surgery only No Intensive Care Unit Care requiring Intervention (Surgery, MI, CVA, etc.) or Critical Care will be expediently transferred to a higher-level facility No direct ambulance transports to the facility All contractor s Hospitalists shall be Board Certified in Emergency Medicine; Board Certified in Surgery, Medicine or Family Medicine with at least 2 years of documented experience in Acute Medicine, currently certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and ACLS. Hospitalists shall care for patients admitted to the inpatient wards. The average daily census is 4.5 patients, capacity is 17 beds. Consultative services to the Community Living Center (Nursing Home) patients for acute issues is also required. Services shall be provided to patients presenting to the Urgent Care Clinic where the average daily census is 12 per day, 1 of which is during the night shift. Hospitalists shall serve as the Medical Officer of the Day, attending to all Code Blues, Rapid Responses, and other medical emergencies in the facility. The Hospitalists shall also provide coverage to the inpatient wards during the hours of 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. the next day. Hospitalist must provide 10-12 hours of coverage seven (7) days a week covering weekends and Federal holidays as follows: OGVAMC Shifts to include weekends and holidays 10-hour shifts: 7:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. Urgent Care 12-hour shifts: 7:00 a.m. 7:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Inpatient ward shift: 5:00 p.m. 7:00 a.m. the next day All qualified firms who believe they can provide the required services are encouraged to respond to the following: Firm s background and experience in providing Hospitalist services. Firm s plan for providing coverage through a pool of providers. Firm s current certificate of liability insurance. Firms that are Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSBs) or Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (VOSBs) shall include proof of verification in the VIP database at www.vip.vetbiz.va.gov/. Firms shall include proof of registration in the System for Award Management (SAM) system (www.SAM.gov/SAM/). This Sources Sought Notice will be used to identify potential vendors that would be interested and capable of providing qualified Hospitalists services, and to assist the Contracting Officer in identifying VOSB/SDVOSB firms. It is for market research purposes only and shall not be considered as a request for quote or as an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire any services. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will arise as a result of the contractor submission of this Sources Sought Notice or the Government's use of such information. The Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any contractor's input resulting from this Sources Sought Notice. No contractual arrangement will be made as a result of this announcement. Information submitted in response to this Sources Sought Notice will not be returned. A determination by the Government based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered for the purposes of determining whether VOSB/SDVOSB firms are available to provide these services. All interested parties capable of providing the above Hospitalists services shall submit a response via email to Patrice.Bond@va.gov no later than Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. local time.
