- SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE FOR VERTICAL LIFT GATE - HYDRAULIC STEEL STRUCTURE FABRICATION EMERGENCY GATE AND SERVICE GATE AT FALLS LAKE DAM, WAKE COUNTY, NC This is a Sources Sought/Request for Information only. This is NOT a Solicitation Announcement, nor is it a Request for Proposal. This request does not obligate the Government in any contract award. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District, is conducting research to determine the market capabilities of potential contractors to fabricate, assemble, paint, and deliver two hydraulic steel structures.�� The work will primarily consist of two tasks: 1) fabricating and assembling gate structures; 2) shipment to the project. All work will be performed in accordance with the contract drawings and specifications.� Work also involves preparing final �As-Built� documents.�� Falls Lake Dam emergency gate is a hydraulic steel structure and is classified as a vertical lift gate with dimensions 19-feet 10-inches in height and 9-feet 9-inches wide. The Falls Lake Dam service gate is a hydraulic steel structure and is classified as a vertical lift gate with dimensions 19-feet 8-inches in height and 9-feet 3-inches in width. The service gate has an attached 1-foot by 1-foot piggyback gate. The gates are constructed of structural steel members with skin plate on one side, seals and, a 45-degree bottom gate lip for hydraulic efficiency.� Side and top seals are J-type rubber seals, and the bottom seals are rectangular.� Six 16-inch diameter fixed wheels are mounted on cantilever axles on each side of each gate.� The weight of each gate is approximately 17,000 pounds.� Delivery shall be made to Falls Lake Dam located in Wake County North Carolina. Due to the critical nature of these structures and the specified framing arrangement many of the structural members are ""Fracture Critical"", therefore, all welding is required to be performed to AWS D1.5M/D1.5 welding code standard by a steel fabricator certified under the AISC Quality Certification Program, Category CBR (Major Steel Bridge) with a Fracture Critical Endorsement (F) or the new AISC Certification Program for Steel Bridge Fabricators (AISC 205-11) for ""Intermediate Bridges"" (IBR) meeting supplemental requirements for ""Fabricators of Bridges with Fracture-Critical Members"" (FC). All interested firms with 332312 as an approved NAICs code have until 26 May 2021, 10AM, EDT to submit the following information: - Name & Address of your Firm - Point of Contact (Name/Phone/E-mail) - Current SAM Record to included DUNS Number and CAGE Code - Firm's capability to perform the work with a steel fabricator certified under the AISC Quality Certification Program, Category CBR (Major Steel Bridge) with a Fracture Critical Endorsement (F) or the new AISC Certification Program for Steel Bridge Fabricators (AISC 205-11) for ""Intermediate Bridges"" (IBR) meeting supplemental requirements for ""Fabricators of Bridges with Fracture-Critical Members"" (FC). - Documented experience on projects of similar scope for at least five years. - Business Size, to include designation as HUBZone, 8(a), Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, Small Disadvantaged Business, Woman-Owned Business, and Large Business.� Any supporting documentation that confirms your socio-economic status should be provided, i.e., letter of certification from VA confirming SDVOSB status. The Government must be able to verify SBA certification of HubZone and 8(a) via SAM. The Government may not give credit to your socio-economic class if there is not sufficient documentation to support it or if the Government cannot verify through other means that your business is as such. Any responses involving teaming agreements should delineate between the work that will be accomplished by the Prime Contractor and work accomplished by the teaming partner All information is to be provided on a voluntary basis at no charge to the Government. There is no entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs related to or arising out of responding to this request for information. All information provided becomes property of the Government.
